Fossil launches its first smartwatch with support for LTE communications

Fossil has been working on its sixth generation of smartwatches for some time; But it seems that its work is not over yet with the fifth generation products, and most likely, at least one more product will be on the market before the introduction of the sixth generation smartwatches. The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently released a list of products approved for distribution in the United States.

Among the products is the smartwatch from Fossil Company, which is, in fact, the fifth generation and uses a modem compatible with LTE communications. If launched, it would be the first fossil smartwatch to support LTE connectivity. This has led various media outlets to look at Fossil’s new wearable gadget.

Unfortunately, the information on the FCC list is very limited and does not specify the exact hardware specifications or design of the new Fossil product. In fact, the only information we have about the new fossil smartwatch is that it has a circular display and that it is at least ready for the US and Canadian markets.

Fossil has introduced features for its fifth-generation smartwatch, including an NFC chip, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth and compatibility with Google Pay service, and is expected to unveil the product at a special event at CES 2021. Given the imminence of CES 2021 and the arrival of the new fossil smartwatch at a stage that could be submitted to the FCC for testing, we can expect the new fossil product to be launched in the early months of 2021.
